Pierre completed his studies at the North West University where he obtained the degrees B.Com (Accounting) and B.Com (Hons.) (Management Accounting). He commenced his professional life as a financial analyst with Portnet (a division of Transnet) and thereafter joined Arthur Andersen in its tax consultancy division.

Having obtained a B.Proc degree from the University of South Africa, Pierre joined Meyer, Van Sittert & Kropman in 1997 where he commenced with his articles of clerkship.

He was admitted as an attorney, conveyancer and notary public of the High Court of South Africa in 1999, and continued his career with Meyer, Van Sittert & Kropman, where he became a partner in 2003.

Pierre is active in the fields of notarial practice, general litigation, commercial law, property law, estate planning, wills and trusts, contractual matters, town planning matters, family law, labour law and debt collection. He finds that his previous experience in commerce stands him in good stead when practising law, and believes that a firm grasp of finances and the economy is essential to the modern-day attorney. He is the managing partner of Meyer, Van Sittert & Kropman and aside from his law practice he also deals with the day-to-day affairs of a busy law firm.

Pierre takes an active part in the community. He has in the past been a member of school governing bodies, and served as a commissioner of the Small Claims Court of Matlosana for more than fifteen years. He also from time-to-time addresses members of other professions on matters of law that are of interest to them.

Outside of work Pierre is a family man, swimmer and aspirant bird watcher.  He hopes to one day be a published novelist.
